An extremely pungent, fiery hot variety of pepper native to South America; now grown widely in all tropical regions of the world. Chilli powder is best used sparingly, at the start of cooking.
Chilli is used in African, Indian, Chinese, Mexican and West Indian Dishes.
Crushed chillies can be sprinkled after cooking as well if you wish to intensify the hot taste.
